does excess computer-usage and TV-watching create imbalance in our eye vision?

I just did a vision thing where I pretend I'm looking off into the distance through my computer screen, and it splits my vision into two images. I notice that one image is blurrier than the other, but not because that eye is weaker, but just lazier. After a few seconds of concentration, I was able to make them both clear.

So I wonder, does staring into a computer screen or a TV make one of our eyes weaker? We have two eyes for depth perception, but in our screen world it's unecessary.
