25 Books That Have Shaped Readers' Lives

The topic of self-transformation is always on my mind. The latest things I've been chewing on are What Color Is Your Parachute? 2008: A Practical Manual for Job-hunters and Career-Changers and this discussion thread on Ask.MetaFilter that asks, "Life-altering experiences. Can you point to a single experience in your life, as a child, which you can define as having contributed to the person you are today?"

Parachute was apparently selected by the Library of Congress in 1995 as one of 25 books that have shaped readers' lives. Below are the 25 books, and its my goal to read at least one chapter in each of these books.

Note: If you buy a book by clicking on any of these links, I get a lil' commission.
