Sign Up Forms Must Die

Sign Up Forms Must Die by A List Apart. One idea I liked is the idea of "gradual engagement." As a example of transgression, the article cited Google Video. The first thing you do there is fill out a form. Only then you get to post your video.

At another video site, though, you start filling out the title of your video and uploading your video. Then there's a place where you get to edit your video. Only when you want to finally share and save your work is the form presented to you. This is an example of "gradual engagement."

Another idea is how there's a verb in your head when you use a service. When you come to a video site, you came to "post a video," not to "fill out a form."
