Design is universally hard
Part of why I like design or gravitate toward designed solutions to timeless problems is that good design is a systemic challenge for the world. Read this frustrated e-mail rant by Bill Gates about using Windows. Even a company with all the money in the world doesn't, by default, buy excellence in usability.
