"Do something cool with your computer"

My cousin got a hold of a new computer and he asked me over chat, "So, what's something cool I can do with this?" I didn't know what to say. I said download a web browser and surf the web.

But just now, I saw something that I think perfectly answers that question: Download the Spore Creature Creator Tool (for either Mac or PC). That's the best expression of multimedia, 3D, ease-of-use, do-it-yourself computer ethos in one small package.

Then, like the sci-fi movies, I realized I was reflecting a bit too much on Earth and human evolution. After deliberately trying to get out of that frame of mind, I really started making some interesting beings.
