The New Governor of Death

After reading this New Yorker article about an innocent man who was executed in Texas a few years ago, I was inspired to learn more about capital punishment.

In my research, I was expecting to find out we've progressed and become more enlightened over the decades. Unfortunately, I discovered that a sitting governor has presided over the most executions of any U.S. Governor ever. Rick Perry, Republican of Texas, who is running for an unprecedented 3rd term in Texas, has presided over the executions of 224 people so far. How is he still governor?

I made this graphic to express my anger and hopefully wake my fellow Texans up.
